What Thomas has created is the next generation of one of the most praised lever machine ever, the Aurora Brugnetti.
He picked better and safer metals, are-engineered and improved every possible component, added a PID, electronics, wood trims, etc.
He built and tested both the horseshoe and the diagonal heat exchanger before deciding to go with the diagonal HX.
He will for sure answer this by himself but in my opinion, you won't have the option of a water tank fed Lapera before a while.
This is not a dipper like a profitec pro800/Izzo Alex Leva where the pump's only purposed is to refill the boiler. This is a rather compact heat exchanger system that is designed to replicate the famous and distinctive taste profile of the Aurora Brugnetti. Lot's of changes would need to be made in order to add a water tank and a pump inside the case.
On a positive note, Londinium has done it with the LR and now the R24. But Londinium is built by Francino (a rather big manufacturer) where Lapera is built by Thomas

I've been following this project since day 1. This is truly amazing. One of a kind! It's such a pleasure to finally see the 1st pictures!
Can't wait to see and hear more once the first 9 units are released in the wild!
Félicitations Thomas!
